Marci Lynn McGuinness is an author, editor, publisher and consultant with 30 years experience. She wrote and published 4 books in 2009, developed the Around Ohiopyle Map and adapted her Uniontown Speedway book into a screenplay. In 2008, she reprinted all of her Yesteryear books in addition to other regional books. She publishes for herself and authors, specializing in local history, mysteries, cookbooks and outdoors. The author will launch several new books in 2010. (See homepage). She has escaped SW PA's winter wrath and is presently writing along the Indian River Lagoon in Melbourne, FL.

Marci McGuinness founded Backwoods Books in 1981. Since that time, she has written and published over 24 books. She ran the Yesteryear Press quarterly regional magazine throughout the 1990's in Ohiopyle. McGuinness' line of pictorial history books included Yesteryear in Ohiopyle, Volumes I and II. She launched Volume III in that series in 2008.

McGuinness moved to the Chesapeake Bay from Ohiopyle in June, 2002. Upon arriving, she served as Account Executive and Columnist for Spin Sheet Magazine (www.spinsheet.com). In 2002 she accepted the Marketing Director position at Cornell Maritime Press/Tidewater Publishers (www.cmptp.com) and was promoted to Managing Editor for the prestigious book publisher.

In September of 2007, McGuinness moved back to SW PA to devote her creative energies to publishing books.
