Writing Contest - Winners get Published! Shore Publications is holding a Writing Contest with winners to be announced at the Ohiopyle Writer’s Conference, October 18, 2008. Writers may submit an unlimited number of unpublished works, preferably with an Ohiopyle/SW PA theme or slant. Entries will be accepted in three categories: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Poems may be up to 40 lines in length; fiction and nonfiction entries should be no longer than 2,000 words (examples are short story, essay, literary nonfiction, and biography). Judges: GUIDELINES: • Cover Sheet: Type the entry title on a separate cover sheet along with your name, address, phone number and e-mail address (writer’s name should not appear on the manuscript itself). Indicate whether the submission is FICTION, NONFICTION or POETRY, and include the word count, and date. • Unpublished Works Only: Submissions must be original, unpublished and not submitted somewhere else. • Format: All entries must be typed, in English, double-spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman. No hand written entries will be accepted. • Submission: Entries will be accepted as attachments to e-mails sent to shorepublications@yahoo.com. We also require 2 hard copies on single-sided 8-1/2 x 11 white paper and mailed with check to: Shore Publications, P. O. Box 26, Chalk Hill, PA 15421 • Reading Fees: $10 per Fiction and Nonfiction entry; $5 per Poetry entry. Entries will be considered submitted on receipt of a check for the reading fee which must accompany all hard-copy entries. Please make all checks payable to Shore Publications. (Monies used to publish winning works and send winners to Ohiopyle Writer’s Conference). • Manuscript Return: Manuscript entries will not be returned. DO NOT send originals. • Deadline: All entries must be postmarked on or before October 5, 2008. TERMS & CONDITIONS: The Ohiopyle Fall Foliage Writing Contest is open to any writer. One winner per category will be chosen. · Winners will receive free registration ($80. value) to the 1st Annual Fall Foliage Ohiopyle Writers Conference. The conference will be held at the Ohiopyle-Stewart Community Center, Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 8am to 4pm.

· Winners will be acknowledged at the conference.
· Winning works will be published in the winter issue of Around Ohiopyle magazine. The magazine will also be sent out through e mail. In addition, winning works will be published at www.ohiopyle.info/writing contest.
· Winners will be notified via e-mail by September 30 , 2008.
· Shore Publications reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not adhere to the contest guidelines. We are not responsible for delays caused by lost mail or electronic, file format, or technical difficulties.
